David: I don't know the surface area of a 10 but it takes 20lbs of
JetGlo to cover the Fuselage and 25lbs of JetGlo to cover the rest of
the plane when the paint is dry. I hope this helps. Doc

My RV10 (N810RK) gained about 35 pounds when it was painted. It was painted by T&P at Salinas, CA. Juan and his crew do good work but they are not the cheapest. I painted all the fiberglass with Evercoat feather fill and blocked it down a bit before they got it. They probably sanded most of the feather fill off, but at least I got all the pin holes filled. That probably accounts for the small difference in finished weight. I ended up at 1,749 lbs empty. Dynon 3 screen panel, dual ADAHARS, Garmin 650 and Dynon 3 axis autopilot. I think it could be built a little lighter with all my equipment, but not a lot. I reenforced the pants with carbon fiber where they mount and a number of other high stress areas as well. The bottom (Showplanes) cowl was split to make it a one man cowl. All those things added some weight, but were worth it to me. I have a Barrett 540X with cold air induction that puts out 290 hp. I flight tested to 3,000 lbs gross weight, but rarely fly it over 2,500 pounds.
